build your House with styrofoam

casa de isoporThe styrofoam is actually a brand of a material called EPS (expanded polystyrene). Widely used in slabs for being a very light material, so easy to carry, and insulating, also can be used also on the walls, through the appropriate constructive system.
The constructions with EPS feature self-supporting walls, that is, that do not require the use of pillars and beams, thus avoiding the waste with wooden molds and shoring the beams. In addition, make less mess and require fewer resources like iron and cement, which is more environmentally friendly.
The walls are composed of two aramadas grilles with EPS plates between them, which are fixed and then receive a shower of mortar on both sides. The hydraulic and electrical pipe is installed before applying the mortar, thus avoiding the waste of time and material generated by breakdowns as it does in conventional masonry system.
The constructive system in EPS, as well as other similar methods are widely used abroad, especially by their resistance to earthquakes, but also for its many advantages, such as the ease and speed of implementation, reduction of waste and the final cost of the work, and in the case of EPS also the advantage in terms of thermo-acoustic efficiency, since it is an insulating material.
The walls feature reduced thickness and they look similar to the masonry, with only the thickness slightly smaller. When you hit the wall, as is usually done to know if she is or seems hollow as the plaster walls, for example, it is not possible to differentiate them from common brick walls.
